About Cambridge Diet
experiences and truths regarding an 1000 calorie diet..?Hey, im 16 years old and i weigh 81.5kg i used to weigh 90kg, till i started consuming no more than 1000 calories a day and going to the gym three times a week for about 45min and walking for an hour a day 6 days a week so i lost all this weight since like october/november and its now january - i can honestly say that i havent experienced rapid weight loss like people say happens with low calorie diets. (about 1-3lbs a week ive been losing). every day i drink green tea in the morning and sometimes lemon juice and water in the evenings ive cut out butter and oils and stuff too, but i eat normal stuff e.g chocolate so long as i dont go over 1000 cals a day. and over christmas i didnt go to the gym for 3 weeks and i stuffed myself most days, i also had family dinners and went to a couple of buffets but after these 3 weeks i had lost another 2lbs.... this kinda contradicts the whole "piling on the pounds" thing in which everyone says will happen when eating normally after a low calorie diet. (miracle idk). oh yeah and at the gym i do mainly cardio (treadmill - running and sprinting) and also weights, bike, elliptical etc... i also do ab crunches a couple of days a week too. ok.... so because of my experiences, i really dont buy the whole idea of 'starvation mode' and using muscles for energy instead of fat... if so, then how do you explain anorexia and starving children in the world?? and also ive heard people saying that your body gets used to the types of excercises you do (i.e. my gym regime) and thus your body stops using much energy whilst doing so... in these cases, what does the body use for energy during exercise then, thin air?? and also many clinically obese ppl are put on low calorie diets and they dont go into starvation mode do they? they just lose heaps and heaps of pounds. and if low calorie diets are so bad then why do diets such as the cambridge diet and lemonade diet and juice fasting recieve success? xxxx

Cambridge diet making me ill?
Ive been on the cambridge diet since end of july last year.. started on SS with just 3 shakes a day.. ive had alot of breaks, my wedding, honeymoon, parties.. birthdays etc.. i started at 12 stone 7 5foot 4... im now 8 stone 9Ib.. alot of people have said i shouldnt be on this diet anymore.. as my bmi is quite low.. howe my consultant hasnt mentioned anything.. im now on just two shakes a day.. (143kcals) and a main evening meal.. usually chicken or fish with veg. i sometimes add a bit of soy sauce to the chicken to give it abit more flavour. Ive started to feel (since this morning) flu like symptons.. light headed.. and i go really dizzy when i stand up.. (thats happened for a while tho) but tends to get worse... i run jstunder 3 miles everynight.. and walk quite alot. im worried now tho that im loosing lean muscle and my body is storing onto the little fat i have left? im still loosing weight.. and have lost half a stone since i saw my consultant last 19th dec.. with xmas and NYE im quite happy ive still managed to loose. But i dont know if this diet is right for me anymore.. yet im scared to mention it to my consultant as i really dont feel ready to come of the shakes completly?? :/ I see a consultant as she is my cambridge diet plan consultant. I know alot of people that have been on WW and only loose 1-2Ib per week, i know that this is a realistic amount to loose to be able to keep weight off in the long run and in able to maintain, but as i got married last september with only a month and a half to loose 2-3 stone i wanted a quick diet... and when i saw the scales dropping so quickly i stuck to it. I dont see it as a 'fad diet' as its the people that reach goal and give up and go bk to there old ways that gain the weight and more much quickly than they lost it... Ive come to have a completly different relastionship with food. I dont feel the need to order a kebab when im abit peckish in the evenings like me and my husband used to. I read food contents and stick mainly to protein and veg. i know whats good for me and whats not. The question i was asking is, is this diet right for me anymore as the symtoms i have are making me feel unwell. and i dont wa
