Does anyone know about the DASH diet?
My doctor told me about the diet. I am concerned about ever inheriting my fathers genes. I never want high blood pressure, nor any kind of heart problem like almost everyone on my dad's side of the family. I'm currently 170lbs, I would like to be 120. I don't have high blood pressure, nor do I have high cholesterol. I have a clean bill of health but I was just wondering if this is a legit diet? I'm looking to change my entire life, this isn't going to be temporary. I do exercise 5 days a week. So far on my own I've lost 4lbs in about two weeks. I just want to know if anyone has tried this diet, or knows more about it? If you're not going to be helpful don't bother answering, especially if you didn't read the question.

What can be the cause?
I was wondering if anyone have any suggestions for me. 2 weeks ago I started taking panic attacks again after 3 years. I never ate for about 5-6 days well maybe 1 meal a day. I also started high blood pressure pills amlodipine 5mg along with the dash diet. Started eating brown rice oatmeal whole wheat pasta and bread. Tons of fruits veggies and some skim milk. Now after starting all of that 2 days later every time I eat I get cramps and need to use the washroom barely anything comes out. now I was wondering if this is a side effect to the pills or eating after not for 5 days(but thought it would go away by now if this is why) or can it be all the foods i am eating now. sometimes I wonder how will I finish the meals. Thanks
