About Eat Clean Diet
My husband is being negative, and says I am too thin? Am I?Ok... So here is the deal. I am married with two children. I never had a weight problem, but when I had my two boys back to back I literally ballooned up. I gained 80 with my first and 45 with my second. After the birth of my second son I weighed 254 lbs and wore a size 20. My husband was never mean about my weight weight gain, but I despised how I looked! I was very unhealthy, and always out of breath. I refused to live the rest of my life always winded and unhappy so I got off my butt and did something about it. I lost 130 pounds all on my own. I started eating clean, and I did exercise dvds in my living room. I have maintained my weight loss for 3 years now. I have recently lost a little more weight after taking my training level up a notch. I love to strength train, it makes me feel confident, energetic, and STRONG! I have recently been featured in a few magazines, and I am featured as a success story with the eat clean diet. Lately, my husband has been very negative towards me. He told me that he did not think that I looked good. When I asked him to be a little more specific, he told me that he preferred me heavier. He said his personal preference is not someone who looks like a damn rail. I am so confused at his statement, because any celebrity that he finds attractive is very thin. I am really bummed out right now, like what he said has really upset me. I have worked so hard to overcome my obesity, and I feel so good about myself. I am more energetic, I fix up everyday, and I take pride in taking care of myself. Why can't he be happy for me?? I am 5'6 and 120 lbs. I am healthy, and I eat a lot trust me! Am I honestly too thin? Could he maybe be jealous of me? I am open to any suggestions. Thank you all for taking the time to answer my question.

Can eating clean lower diabetes risk?
My brother was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. He's been eating just for many years and now must clean up his diet. I also eat more junk than I should, but not as much as he did. I recently read The Eat Clean Diet Recharged by Tosca Reno. In it she talks about cutting out all processed, sweet, fried, junk, and fast foods; switching to whole grains for things like cereal (oatmeal mostly), rice, pasta, and breads; eating lots of fresh fruits and veggies; and drinking just plain water or unsweetened tea/black coffee. She's limiting portion size by eating much smaller amounts, but more frequently. Together this way of eating is supposed to keep your energy and blood sugar more steady by providing a more steady supply of food throughout the day. So my question is, if I adopt all or most of this method of eating for me and my family longterm, will I reduce my chances of also becoming diabetic? I'm 36 and currently about 55 pounds overweight. I know it will help me lose weight because I've already lost 2 pounds since I started Friday.

I don't think I could cut carbs totally out of my family diet, but I am cutting back myself. I'm limiting carbs by dividing my plate into quarters with half for the veggies, the other quarters lean protein and whole grain or other healthy carbs. This limit my carbs to 1/4 of the meal with no seconds. I only have 1 slice of bread for a sandwich. I know I was eating way too many of them because I have PCOS which makes you crave them.
