About Elimination Diet
Over the past year i've had stomach/esophageal problems..?Can anyone tell me what is wrong with me? I went to the doctor and they said i had esophagitis most likely from food allergies. This is very confusing to me because most of my life i've been normal and had minimal food allergies. They diagnosed me with allergies to corn, soy, oranges, onions, most nuts. This is also weird because before my diagnosis i ate honey oat bars religiously because they seemed to make my esophagus/stomach less. Symptoms: -Feeling of fullness or indigestion for hours after meal. (used to digest in like 5 minutes) -Acidic feel when i burp (usually after 1 hour post eating) It is beginning to ruin my life since the digestion or at least what i interpret as indigestion does not allow me to run or even walk after meals. It feels as though you ate something heavy or didnt settle well. What makes it worse than normal: -Huge meals after being really hungry I've been on a food elimination diet for about 10 weeks and have seen a little improvement but not what i would consider normal. IT also started after a sports injury where i was required to take 2 aleeve per day (usually in the morning) (took on an empty stomach). r Also i haven't had sodas, and coffees for at least 1 year. If anybody can help me out or has experienced EE please help me. It feels like i am in an uphill battle. Also sitting upright after meals or standing upright makes the pain very minimal. Have not thrown up in many years, just had esophageal pains. Also i am taking flovent and acid relivers if you have even the littlest of tips or ideas anything is welcome. THank You I'm aware it can cause EC, so is my gastro-ologist guy, but they said my stomach lining looks completely normal, the problem is my lower ESOPH is torn up.

What could be causing this?
hello, im a 16 year old girl. i have had this issue for some time now (maybe forever i just havent noticed) where my abdomen is extremley distended. ive had a scan an ultrasound weve tried elimination diets and nothing. my blood tests are normal and they said theres no sign of inflamation according to the blood test. its not caused by weight as my bmi is 19.5 at 5ft 2 and 107lbs, and my body fat percentage is around 20 so thats healthy too. i know its vain to worry about appearance (ive spent a long time with this now) but its driving me nuts. it makes me upset as i look quite fat even though im not and i feel so uncomfortable in my chlothes. although if i wear trousers that are tight waisted, it tends to hold it in to a semi decent level, but i can wear jeans as the distention pushes them out and it looks frightful! especially where the button part joins which sticks out. but as i say if i wear tight waisted trousers, and a baggy ish top, it looks not so bad. its made me so self concious and i wont wear a tight top as i look really fat if i do. ibs has been put down to it, but i have no symptoms. i 'go' everyday, and its normal. plus its permanatly like it. although obviously before i go to bed, my tummy is full of food so its always slightly bigger then :P does anyone know what could be causing it, or if theres anything that may reduce it or something? im really desperate! or has anyone experienced/is experiencing this or knows anyone who has/is? also some have said it maybe 'natural distention'. there is no way in hell this is 'naturally' my body shape! its huge! i have a picture of it that you can see so you know what im going on about. thanks for reading and sorry about the novel! here is the link to 2 photos. 1 of the side veiw and one of the front veiw. you may want to open them to see them properly. http://www.flickr.com/photos/63936406@N02/sets/72157628967143261/

Heartburn for no reason. Feeling hopeless and miserable.?
All I ate today was buckwheat, rice thins, a few quinoa cookies and applesauce and yet I still have heartburn. I've been on so many elimination diets and am currently on one (vegan, soy free, gluten free) and still no relief. I'm only 16 years old. I've been to the gastrointerologist, allergist and doctor. They found out I had GERD and eosinophilic/allergic esophagitis. The allergy tests weren't positive for any foods which was very strange. I feel hopeless as so many foods have been giving me problems. Something as simple as rice gives me heartburn. I fear that one day I won't be able to eat anything and I really can't afford losing any more weight. Everyone says I'm really skinny and it's getting on my nerves. I'm also constantly worrying about the possibility of getting esophageal cancer considering the amount of times I get heartburn. I can't even eat properly or hang out with friends at a food court. I burp so many times a day that its really affecting my life and embarrassing me. I've tried probiotics, enzymes, antacids, ppi's (prevacid) which just made things worse. My diet is already so restricted and it's still giving me problems. I have my next endoscopy in about a month and I'm scared out of my mind. Sorry about the long rant, I just feel completely depressed and hopeless. Any suggestions for what I shall do next would be greatly appreciated. Even telling me something that would cheer me up would help. I just needed to get my frustration out.

Thanksgiving recipes for elimination diet?
I just got put on the "modified elimination diet" to help diagnose some possible food allergies. The problem is, I'll be on it over Thanksgiving (nooo!) I'm new to this, so I'm having trouble figuring out what I can bring to the family dinner so that I can eat something. I know turkey and natural plain cranberry sauce is fine, but I'd really like to find recipes that mimic things like sweet potato casserole and pumpkin pie. I can't have dairy, eggs, soy, corn, wheat, bread, potatoes (except sweet potatoes), nothing processed or sugary. Basically things need to be as natural as possible, though most spices are ok. I've found some recipes, but they all use butter or margarine (not allowed) or a ton of brown sugar. Help! Does anyone know a way to cook sweet potatoes without using these things?
