How has the Paleolithic Diet worked for you?
I'm 27, 5'8 and 165 lbs. My main goal is to eat healthier and exercise more than I have been in the past year. I wkuld like to lose about 15-25 lbs in fat but I would like to remain curvy. A few of my friends mentioned I should try the Paleolithic Diet saying it may even help allieviate my ADHD symptoms. I did my research on it and it seems like a good idea. I was curious if anyone has done this and what the results were. If you liked it, what did you like about it? If you didn't like it what about it didn't you like? I would love to hear opinions. :-) For my workout plan, I want to alternate between hot yoga and crossfit training.

Paleo diet for a 15 year old?
I'm fifteen and my diet is awful. Luckily, I'm really active and I have a great metabolism, so I'm actually about twenty pounds underweight. What I'm wondering is if I should start a paleolithic diet, obviously not to lose weight, but to be healthier and to be in better shape for track and cross country (I'm a competitive runner). I need to know if this diet will do more harm than good.

If I stop eating all grain and starch products, will that help me lose weight?
I am seriously considering a Paleolithic diet. My dad is on it, so I have his support. I just want to know if cutting all grains (bread, pasta, pizza,) and starches (rice, potatoes,) etc, will help me to lose weight. That would also mean no more cookies, chips, brownies. I but the moment I started my period when I was 12, I gained all this weight for no reason.

Sites that offer information about cultures, their evolution, and nutrition?
I kind of need to explain because I don't think anyone would understand without an explanation =P I'm interested in nutrition and anthropology, but that damn paleolithic diet fad is cramming up my Google search results. I want to know how a person's ancestry (and hence, the food they had available) would affect their energy levels, weight, appearance, etc. Like, my family's ancestry is more Mediterranean, but some nutrition nerd friends and I found that I function better on a higher-protein diet than on carbs. One of my friends is more toward the northern European spectrum, and he could function just fine with more carbs and less protein for weeks, but switch the ratio and he gets tired and not fun to be around (this is the kind of stuff me and my dietetics friends do in our spare time XP). Basically, the general consensus on nutrition is that you need 75% carbs (50% fruits and veggies, 25% unrefined starch) and 25% protein, but for some people that doesn't seem to be true and I want to know why...
