What foods have starchy carbs?
Happy Holidays, lovely Answer-ers! Alright, so I'm going to start this 'Sonoma Diet', but with a few tweaks suggested by First magazine. This includes: "...avoid sweets, fruit, wine/dairy, plus limit the intake of grains and starchy carbs to two servings a day." So, my question(s) to you is this: what foods are in the 'starchy carbs' category? How much would a serving be considered as? Thank you, so much, in advance!

I need some help losing weight im tired of this and myself!?
Ive been overweight for about 8 years give or take. My whole life i was thin and beautiful but after i had my first daughter 8 years ago i just started packing on the pounds and its just progressivly gotten worse. Im 25 now. My boyfriend and I are finally getting married this summer, our life seems to just be falling in place and as dumb as it sounds my weight is just holding me back from completely enjoying life. im 208 lbs. Im 5'7. Ideally I want to be 150. I could be happy at that weight. The problem is im so weak. Ive been on every diet in the past 8 years, ive done weight watchers, the Sonoma diet, southbeach, and any other u can think of. I always fail. I have no wilpower. We have gotten a treadmill and at first i was doing great walking 3 miles a day, that week i dropped 3 lbs. But then i started back with the bad food. I just need some advice. Ive been struggling and fighting with this for years. Im my own worst enemy. Im the only one preventing myself from succeeding. Is there any fitness experts or health experts or even someone who has went through something like this and has succeeded that can help me get a plan of action? I have to do it the old fashioned way, diet and excercise. I dont have the extra money now to do a fad diet. Im willing to hear any plans or routines. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks people!

Should I try the Mediterranean / Sonoma Diet or the Anti-Inflammatory / Zone Diet?
Okay, so a little background: I'm 24, healthy, slim, love to be outdoors, etc. My boyfriend and I also love cooking and baking together at home, but a lot of times we go out because it's faster (both busy with work, etc.). We're trying to eat at home more often to save money and be healthier, and I wouldn't mind dropping a few pounds as well if it's more of a "lifestyle change." I'm thinking of trying one of those trendy eating plans out there, but I'm not sure which is better. The first one is the Mediterranean / Sonoma Diet, and the second one is an anti-inflammatory version of the Zone Diet. Keep in mind, this is more for health than for weight loss, I would really like to learn a new way to eat that's not meat-and-potatoes like we both learned growing up. Can anyone recommend which of these might be better? Here are two pages I read with a review of each, they also recommend the books I'm thinking of checking out: Mediterranean - http://www.epicurious.com/articlesguides/healthy/news/diet_mediterranean Anti-Inflammatory - http://www.epicurious.com/articlesguides/healthy/news/diet_antiinflammatory I want to be alive, healthy, and happily eating for a long, long time, so I'd appreciate hearing any responses, reviews, advice, etc! Thanks!
